La Quinta Alliance with Texas 4-H

This summer begins the third year of the alliance between the Texas 4-H Foundation and the nationally recognized and Texas born, La Quinta Inn Hotel chain. This Alliance is designed to allow Texas 4-H Members, their families, their friends, and their affiliates to enjoy a 15%* discount on La Quinta's standard room rates at over 700-plus locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

In addition to this benefit to the users of their first class facilities, La Quinta is also willing to donate 9% of the monies they receive from our 4-H Supporters back to the 4-H Foundation in support of the Foundation's efforts to provide funding for the 4-H Youth of Texas. These funds are being used to support the Texas 4-H Program Support Grants offered by the Foundation. To-date, over $30,000 has been awarded between the Foundation and the Friends & Alumni efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to save money while traveling, business or pleasure yet at the same time benefitting Texas 4-H. We want to continue to see the grant support grow in the future. This and other alliances such as the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers baseball nights are ways you as agents can help. Share this information with your families. Encourage them to share the information with their friends, even those outside of the 4-H currently.

The Texas FFA is way ahead of 4-H when it comes to utilizing this program. The benefit potential for monies to the 4-H program are huge. We need your help in spreading the word. Contact Jana Barrett at 979-845-1213 to request cards that you can provide in upcoming summer meeting packets. The cards are not required to receive the discount, but are more just informational. Also, Jana will be sending out a flier via email that you can include within your newsletter, post online, etc. She will also email you a small ad size jpeg file you can include in correspondence as well.

Please remember to share this information with your 4-H families as well as friends, co-workers, etc. ANYONE can receive the discount by using the code "TX4H". There is no membership required, no card to show at check-in. You simply have to book your rooms using this code. Anyone that uses the code, they are 4-H Supporters simply by doing so.

If you prefer to make your reservations over the phone, you may do so by calling 1-800-531-5900 or by calling a La Quinta location direct. Make sure you ask for the "TX4H Youth Discount".

Without prior reservations upon arrival, there is no guarantee the special rate will be available. It is recommended to make your reservations in advance online, contact the hotel direct or use the La Quinta main reservation line when booking.
