ROUNDUP UPDATE: TEXAS 4-H ROUNDUP WELCOMES THE GEORGIA 4-H CLOVERS AND CO. TO TEXAS 4-H ROUNDUP

The nationally acclaimed Georgia 4-H Performing Arts Group, Clovers & Co., will entertain at the 2009 Texas 4-H Roundup on Tuesday, June 9th, at 8:00 p.m. in Rudder Auditorium.

Clovers & Co. is composed of forty-two talented singers, dancers, instrumentalists, and stagehands from across the state of Georgia. The group members range in age from 10 to 18. Clovers & Co. performs on behalf of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Cooperative Extension’s youth program, 4-H.

The Clovers & Co. show features forty–five minutes of singing and dancing backed by a live band. Songs of the past and present are combined in a fast-paced show that all ages will enjoy. The theme for the show this year is “Turn Up the Music”.

Performing arts is one of the most popular projects in the Georgia 4-H Program. Clovers & Co. was created to provide 4-H’ers with an opportunity to share their talents with others. Established in 1981, Clovers & Co. has been performing for twenty-eight years. Over one hundred fifty 4-H’ers audition during the groups’ annual statewide tryouts for positions in the show cast. The group is led by 4-H volunteers and State 4-H Staff members.

The group has several famous alumni including Grammy winners, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland and Hillary Lindsay, writer of Jesus Take the Wheel, as well as eight other number one hits.
We encourage all 4-H members and adults to attend this opportunity to see the talents of other 4-H members from across our country. Four $250.00 scholarship awards will be given as door prizes to those 4-H members in attendance.
